Robot teaching assistant
The City of Stockholm wants to reduce workload on teachers and engage students. We believe robots can do both!
Reducing bias in the recruitment process
Furhat Robotics and the City of Stockholm are collaborating on an exciting project to bring social robots to the classroom.
The project has been instigated by the IT and Digitalization unit at Stockholms Stad, whose role it is to help the city’s schools develop new digital solutions which contribute to innovation. The aim of the project is to reduce the workload on teachers and find new ways for students to collaborate. Furhat is being used as an interactive teaching assistant which can be customized by students with content such as presentations, lectures, and quiz games.
The long-term vision of the project is to have a social robot in every school, further solidifying Stockholm as one of the most innovative and forward-thinking cities in the world. Our CEO, Samer, lays out our vision for education here.
Placing a social robot in a classroom to see how the teachers and students can find new applications for them, to enhance learning, is an incredibly exciting learning experience. It also gives us guidance as we continue building the schools of the future.AnnMarie Taylor, CIO, Stockholms Stad
