Furhat Robotics receives UNESCO Netexplo 2019 Award for social robotics innovations

Furhat Robotics is one of 10 companies to receive the 2019 Netexplo Award for global breakthrough digital innovations.

The Netexplo Forum 2019 took place at UNESCO Headquarters in Paris. On April 17th the 10 award winners – selected from a pool of 2,500 digital innovators worldwide – were announced.

“Every year Netexplo awards 10 of the most promising digital initiatives globally, selected for their innovative use of technology and potential social impact,” said Marcus Goddard, VP Intelligence at Netexplo.

The Netexplo Forum has been co-hosted by UNESCO and Netexplo Observatory, since 2011. According to the event website, UNESCO’s mandate makes it a key international player in addressing challenges relating to digital developments and seeking to harness them to build inclusive knowledge societies and support sustainable development.

The underlying theme of the Netexplo Forum event is to “provide a reflection upon the relation between humans and technologies and the future developments that can take place.”

Experts and innovators from around the globe were present in the audience of over 2,000 people, representing fields such as Artificial Intelligence, big data, IOT, biotech, cybersecurity, gaming, blockchain, and more.
